The Class of Problems Realith Addresses

Realith should be read not as an industry solution and not as an answer to one particular market, but as an infrastructure for a specific class of coordination problems.

Overview

The issue is inter-subject coordination in which the same object must be held across multiple independent participants and must have a recognizable current result on which the next step depends.

Where Realith is not needed

Realith is not the natural answer where:

  • there is one natural owner of the whole environment;
  • an ordinary internal database and a single administrative model are sufficient;
  • the object does not outlive a single event;
  • no separate layer of canonical current state is required;
  • inter-subject coordination is effectively absent.

The class of problems matters more than a list of industries: one and the same industry may contain both natural and entirely unsuitable scenarios.
